Ok. So scratch the part where I said my domain was up and running. Apparently it has decided to be an ass and go back to being parked at Go Daddy.
So I called the customer support number at Go Daddy to see if they could shed some light on this fact. Big help, that was.
Me: I'm having a problem with my domain. It was working about an hour ago, pointing where it was supposed to and all that, and now for no readily apparent reason it's back to being parked with you guys. What gives?
Pipsqueak on the other end: Well, ma'am, you have to wait about 24-48 hours for the domain to propagate so that it shows up the way it's supposed to. Until then, it will show as being parked at GoDaddy.
Me: Yes, I know that. And it did take about 36 hours to show up after I mapped it. But what I'm saying is that it WAS working, and it WAS showing up, and now it's NOT.
Pipsqueak: Yes, ma'am. That's because after you change the settings it takes about 24 to 48 hours...
Me: Uh huh. Like I said, I get that. I did change the settings about 36 hours ago, so that's right on target. What I want to know is why it was showing up before and now it's not.
Pipsqueak: Well, if you'll just give it about 8-10 more hours, I'm sure you'll be able to see your domain pointing to your site.
Me: (sigh) All right. Thanks.
Pipsqueak: Is there anything more I can do for you today, ma'am?
Me: No, I think that'll about do it. Bye.
Pipsqueak: You have a good day, ma'am.
Ok, before I drive an ice pick through my own skull out of sheer frustration, someone tell me...was I unclear about the issue I was having? Do we all understand that my problem wasn't the fact that I was getting impatient about my domain mapping to where it was supposed to, but that it WAS mapping fine and now it's NOT? Because I thought I was using a reasonable vocabulary, enunciating pretty well...all that. And this kind of thing happens to me a lot. Maybe it is me, I don't know. Frankly I don't think so, but if it is, it would be nice if someone told me that I suck at explaining things.
I think there was a bit of confussion going on. From your dialog it may have sounded as if you changed the mapping "about an hour ago". Now I'm geussing this is not what happened (since you clearly said you did that "36 hours ago" but once the support rep got that idea in their head, it was inconceivable that it would ever leave (their head, that is)

Nope it isn't just you. That's the exact same talk-in-circles support I get from companies like Dell. Except at Dell everyone is actually based in India and speaks very.broken.english with very THICK accents. Oh the joy of being smarter than the people that are supposed to be helping you.
